Back To Office...

selepas lebih seminggu bercuti bersempena dengan Tahun Baru Cina, begitu terasa kemalasan nak masuk ofis hari ni. cuti, balik hometown and lepak je kat rumah. gila best cuti lelama. bangun tido awal lepas tu bleh sambung tido 2-3 kali, layan dvd, makan mum's food, lepak kedai mamak minum² borak² dgn member sambil tgk amoi² yg lalu lalang. maklumlah ipoh tu pekan cina. time raya ni penuh le town tu. balik subuh² tadi terus ke cyberjaya. masuk opis pun rasa pening je. hahahhaha.. lepas lebih seminggu tak jumpa traffic jam, kat highway dah kena. lepas sket je restoran jejantas sg buloh, ada le jam sket sementara nak lepas bukit lanjan tu. biasale, since jalan nak ke nkve tu tutup pasal tanah runtuh tu area tu memang sangkut le pepagi. nasih baik temperature aku tak naik. jalan ke cyberjaya ni pun takde apa² yg buat sangkut. lagipun lawan arus le katakan. nasib baik le kerja tak banyak. dengar cerita last week masa aku cuti kerja belambak. intern baru masukla, problem user pun ada. hehehehehe.. selamat.. nak gi lunch ni.. daaaa..

|| Buli ||         Berjayakah Afdlin sebagai pengarah?

selepas Lang Buana, Grand Brilliance Sdn. Bhd bakal kembali sekitar Mac ini dengan sebuah hasil karya pelakon/penyanyi/pengacara (dan mcm2 pe.. lagi lahh) yg tidak perlu diperkenalkan lagi iaitu Mr Afdlin Shauki. kali ini Afdlin membuktikan keupayaannya sebagai seorang insan seni yg 'versatile' dengan menulis cerita ini serta mengarahkannya sekali. pergghh!! bukan calang org tu beb! akhir2 ini kita dpt menyaksikan muka dia ni selalu je keluar kat tv. I even think every monday night is "Afdlin Night", b'cos at 9 o'clock, muka dia keluar kat tv3 dlm Ah-Ha. Tak lama lepas tu kat ntv7 pulak dlm Show Me The Money. the day before tu kira mcm biasa la dlm tv:ism bersama Sarah Sechan dan Najib Ali.

by the way, Buli basically adalah sebuah filem 'komedi drama' yg berkisar tentang seorang software designer bernama Nordin (Afdlin) yg ada problem "inferiority complex" yg tersangatlah teruknya. disertai oleh seorang psikiataris yg tiada kerja bernama Dr. Ika (Nasha). Kisah semangat rendah diri afdlin in dipengaruhi oleh kejadian2 yg menimpanya sedari kecik lagi. since masa dia sekolah dulu, dia selalu kena buli dengan seorang mamat ni namanya Roy (Hans Isaac). nak tau cerita selanjutnya? mcm mana dia terjumpa Nasha dan apa ending story ni, kenalah kita tunggu filem ni kluar kat panggung nanti. ramai famous star dlm cerita ni selain dari 3 org tadi adalah ako mustafa, hattan, kartina aziz, patrick teoh, soraya dean (the digi model), ac mizal (x gerak gerak gerak khas..), rashid salleh, jason lo, riezman, ifa raziah, joanna bassey (kopitiam maaa..), harun salim bachik pun ada, jalil hamid, erma fatimah, sharifah aleya dan jeslina hashim. tak tau le samada depa ni buat cameo je or ada scene yg banyak.

so, afdlin is proven as an actor and singer, (dude, u'r Fuyoo get me high man..!!) how 'bout him as a director and script writer? i think all afdlin fans out there, should support this movie, eh.. all the best afdlin! really crazy on each of u'r work! buli movie link...

|| Teater ||        Anak Kerbau Mati Emak

teater yg pernah dipentaskan sekitar tahun 1972 ini adalah naskah dari Allayarham Bidin Subari, seorang penulis yg tidak asing pada masa itu. kini ia kembali di bawah arahan pelakon/pengarah tersohor, Mior Hashim Manap. akan dipentaskan pada 16-25 Januari ini di Istana Budaya. satu genre komedi yang berkisar tentang kehidupan di sebuah kampung bermula dengan seekor anak kerbau yg telah diganggu oleh seorang pemuda nakal dan mengakibatkan anak kerbau itu mengamuk dan menyebabkan banyak kerosakan pada harta benda penduduk kampung. secara tidak langsung ia telah membawa kepada banyak insiden dan peristiwa yang telah mendedah dan menyedarkan mereka. dibarisi pelakon² teater dan drama yang tidak asing lagi seperti Jalil Hamid, Zaidi Omar, Harun Salim Bachik, Hisham Ahmad Tajuddin, Ebby Yus, Tawil, Liza Othman dan Atie (Akademi Fantasia), rasanya kita tidak perlu lagi mempersoalkan adakah teater ini seronok untuk ditonton atau tidak.

antara mesej yg cuba ditampilkan oleh Mior adalah untuk untuk menyuburkan budaya umpama 'esprit de corp' atau semangat kekitaan di dalam jati diri bangsa Melayu. budaya masyarakat Melayu turut mengalami evolusi di mana unsur tradisional bercampur aduk dengan konsep budaya nasional namun corak dan gaya berfikir segelintir masyarakat Melayu masih dibelenggu corak pemikiran kuno meskipun lantang melaungkan agenda mengejar pembangunan. manusia menjadi hilang punca apabila bertindak dengan tidak menggunakan akal. so, saran saya kita pergi beramai-ramai! "Istana Budaya, Seni Pentas Bertaraf Dunia" (ecewahh promote IB le plak..)

Timbalan Perdana Menteri Ke 9

pelantikan Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak sebagai Timbalan Perdana Menteri Malaysia yg ke 9 pada 7hb lalu tidak terlalu mengejutkan saya kerana jika dilihat dari segi senioriti dan karisma, Najib dilihat mempunyai kelebihan. sedangkan sewaktu Pak Lah dilantik ke kerusi TPM oleh mantan Perdana Menteri pun dari segi senioriti di dalam kabinet dan kekananan, Najib lebih layak tetapi ianya tidak menjadi kenyataan. walaupun umum mengetahui bahawa Pak Lah tidak berapa ngam dgn Najib dan dilihat Muhyiddin lebih rapat dengan beliau dan telah disebut-sebut bakal dilantik menjadi TPM. namun demikian, segalanya tidak tepat. adakah pemilihan Najib dipengarui Tun Dr Mahathir? bukankah Dr. M pernah mengeluarkan kenyataan bahawa beliau berharap Najib akan mengisi kekosongan tersebut? apapun, Pak Lah agak mengambil masa untuk membuat pilihan tersebut. sesuatu yg dikira agak tidak kena. adakah beliau mempunyai calon lain yg difikirkan lebih layak? walau siapa pun yg mengisi kerusi tersebut, pada saya ianya tidak menjadi perhatian kerana sudah dapat diagak apakah langkah dan cara seorang TPM. untuk jangka masa terdekat ini, dunia politik tanah air akan memfokus kepada pilihanraya yg bakal tiba. ramalan saya paling cepat adalah sekitar hujung Februari atau Mac (selepas musim haji) ataupun sekitar bulan Mei. tetapi hati saya kuat mengatakan Parlimen akan dibubarkan sebelum April ini serentak dgn validity date utk negeri Sabah.
umum mengetahui Datuk Seri Najib sebagai seorang yg tidak mudah melenting dan marah. dari segi kepimpinan, beliau lebih berlembut dan berdiplomasi. ada kebarangkalian sifatnya itu akan dimanipulasi kelak. akan tetapi saya memandang beliau ini sebagai seorang yg agak lemah daya kepimpinannya. bukan tidak bagus tetapi ada kekurangan. tentu kita tidak harus lupa sewaktu beliau memegang Kementerian Pendidikan dahulu. terutamanya 'batch' yg lahir tahun '78. pada saya batch in banyak dijadikan bahan eksperimen. dari penggunaan kad pengenalan baru, sistem UPSR yg diubah, pengenalan PMR, SPM format baru, Matrikulasi yg difrancaiskan dan disingkatkan tempoh pengajian menyaksikan ramai pelajar yg menjadi mangsa keadaan. ramai juga yg tak tahu akan kisah lama Najib sebelum ini. bukanlah niat saya untuk memburukkan beliau tetapi saya yg hanya baru mengetahui tentang perkara ini sendiri agak terkejut. rupa-rupanya Puan Seri Rosmah adalah isteri kedua beliau. isteri pertama telah diceraikan dan selepas itu beliau telah bernikah dengan Puan Seri. apa yang lebih mengejutkan saya, Puan Seri itu dahulu adalah isteri kepada rakan akrib beliau sendiri. perkara ini pernah menjadi kes mahkamah kalau tidak silap dan Najib telah diselar di atas perlakuannya itu. cerita ini cerita lama. mungkin di zaman kanak-kanak dahulu dan saya pun tak ambil pusing. apapun diharap tidak akan berlaku sebarang perkara yg tidak diingin di antara beliau dan Pak Lah. Nampak sangat mereka ini tidak di dalam 'kapal' yang sama kerana Najib berulang kali menyatakan bahawa beliau tidak akan "melawan tauke" dan kenyataannya yg seakan merayu diberikan peluang utk bekerjasama dgn Pak Lah. entahlah, adakah sebarang syarat ataupun arahan yg telah diberikan kepada Pak Lah utk memilih Najib sebagai timbalan? apapun, selamat maju jaya Datuk Seri Najib!

|| DVD Review ||        Underworld & Once Upon A Time In Mexico



Underworld

the story goes around the vampires and werewolves world which is in a war between them for centuries. the wolves known as the Lycans is being live underground and doesn't reveal themselves to the vampires because they will hunt them down. based on modern world with the high tech and great cars, the Lycans stays hidden while planning for their attack on the vampires. it's kind of "Blade" style but different in character.
with the main cast, Kate Beckinsale as Selene, she fight for the truth in the vampire world. even she's a victim in hatred and anger between the vampire leader, Viktor (Bill Nighy) and the Lucian (Michael Sheen). when Selene come across Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman)who hold the key to end the war, she must decide where her alligances will lie.
i understand why it's banned here cos the film is really fiction and fantasy. with all the violence and unlogic thing, it may give a wrong perception to us.overall to me it's just a normal gothic action movie.

Once Upon A Time In Mexico

the saga of the mythic guitar-slinging hero, El Mariachi (Antonio Banderas), continues in Robert Rodriguez's bold, non-stop action, a sequel from "Desperado". The new adventure is set against a backdrop of revolution and greed. Haunted and scarred by loss, El Mariachi has retreated into a life of isolation. He is forced out of hiding by Sands (Johnny Depp), a corrupt CIA agent. Sands recruits the reclusive hero to sabotage a plot by the evil cartel kingpin Barillo (Willem Dafoe)and a corrupt military leader General Marquez (Gerardo Vigil) , who is planning to assassinate the president of Mexico. El Mariachi has his own reasons for returning - retribution and revenge because his wife Carolina (Salma Hayek, still remember her from the first movie? her role in this movie is not so much. she just appear in flashback of Banderas memory for 4-5 scenes)has been shot by Marquez together with their child. Now, along with his capable cohorts Lorenzo (Iglesias) and Fideo (Leonardi) the legend of El Mariachi attains new levels of excitement.

to me, this film is more attractive with Sands character besides Mariachi because Banderas shows most action and his shooting capability than others. Depp role is not a typical undercover agent b'cos his character is kinda 'selamba' and rilex. he doesn't care who is in front of him and his face doesn't show any scare! overall this is not an expected movie form Rodriguez and I'm kind of dissapointed with his work this time. It's just such a different masterpiece of him. basically the story is weak and the ending is predictable. luckily the cast is damn great!

Tribute To A Friend

today is the last day for my friend, Emeryl Jolyn Gasper in the office since she's resigning for another job in Astro. for the past couple years, her dedication and commitment is kinda superb especially to our team. even those bureaucrats and politics surround us, we just have to ignore it for our own sake. one thing that amaze me is she's leavin' not for a better offer from the other side. its just she wanna try for a job in other area. from all of us in support team, we'd like to wish all the best and may god always be with u. take care jo!

My Choices Of DVD For 2003

here are my choices of DVD title for last year. it's not only for movie but also include the mini series and series. it may not be u'r choice, but to me they have their own quality in terms of story, script and effects. so, check it out...

1. Steven Spielberg present 'Taken'
* a great mini series by Spielberg. a story about 3 generation of family circulated with the alien breed child, alien abduction and the hatred that never end. just wondering how the scriptwriter got the idea of the story? are they alien? a must see dvd!

2. Lord Of The Rings : The Two Towers
* even blind person also know this saga trilogy. the 2nd part is really entertaining especially the Helm's Deep battle. can't wait for all the movie in box set.

3. Star Wars Episode 2 : Attack Of The Clones
* for this episode, Lucas brings to us the part where Ani and Amidala get involve and later they married even the Jedi rules is not to involve with anybody. as this is the starting part of the existence for Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. i still can't get how the Dark Lord plan would vanish all the Jedi and become so powerful. hopefully after the episode 3, lucasfilm will think to produce the 8th!

4. 24 season 2
* as we've already witness from previous season, this gripping series continues a year and half from last season event. David Palmer has become President and Jack Bauer is still in CTU but he still feel sad about what happened to his wife, Teri. Basically this season is about a terrorist from Middle East threat in Los Angeles. Even its looks like a bias subject to Muslim but the script and story is really interesting. It's also have some subject from previous season threat. so, go get it folks and watch it before the AXN air it!

5. The Italian Job
*this 1969 remake film with strong cast is damn good story with the brave and courage of a thief gang whom betrayed by one of their own teammate during the last heist in venice. with Mark Wahlberg, Ed Norton, Chalize Theron in the cast lineup, i'd really like this movie especially with their "mini cars"...

6. Bad Boys II
*i'd call this film as a handsome and pretty movie. the camera work is really amazing and the editing is kinda superb! great story and lot of action from ground chase, cars flyin' all over the freeway, water and train action and even ambush the cuban mob mansion. also a must see..

7. The Matrix Reloaded
*This sequel movie from the Wachowski Brothers brings us a more character compared to the previous one. The action and complexity of the Matrix world is more reveal. I really like the freeway chase which invlove the Twin, the Agent and the Morpheus group. A must see movie!

8. Alias - Season 1
*Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow, a double agent for CIA and an underground movement SD 6 which is part of The Alliance in this first season of the series. If you never get to watch it before, you should hook it from the first series cos its relate from one to another. really good storyline which make me nail in front of the screen till the 2nd season now (which more interesting). The 2nd season DVD is just out in US.

9. Confidence
*Edward Burns, Rachel Weisz, Dustin Hoffman and co star Andy Garcia cast in this film. 'Bout a man who accidently have debt with a mafia bos. but his plan to get out from the debt and trap back the mob is really kewl..

10. Vidocq
*Loosely based upon the true story of Eugene-Francois Vidocq, a former criminal who became a police chief, and then, founder of the first French detective agency but the story here is just fiction. he investigate tripple murder in an area part of Paris called Tample. It then leads him to searching for a terrifying mythological figure who might be wreaking havok on the city's moral and political core. This French movie is lead by Gerard Depardieu (still remember him from "The 3 Musketeers?) and based on 1830's. Even the story release in France in 2000, but the DVD was just out on last year. A worth watch movie!

Tahun Baru? Merevolusikan Diri Satu Cabaran..

hari kedua di tahun masehi 2004 jatuh pada hari jumaat 10 zulkaedah. malam kelmarin di kebanyakan bandar terutama ibu negeri menjadi tumpuan semua org terutamanya 'org muda' berkumpul utk mengira detik berlalunya tahun dua kosong kosong tiga dan menyambut tahun dua kosong kosong empat. disertakan dengan persembahan pentas yg sudah pasti daya penariknya artis² terkenal tanahair dan juga pertunjukan bunga api (sinonim setiap event besar), rakyat berkumpul tak kira di mana tempat pun samaada di atas dataran, bangunan pencakar langit, pulau pelancongan, hatta di kelab² malam ataupun kawasan² yg sewaktu dgnnya.

satu kemusykilan di hati, apa yg ingin dicari mereka? sekadar berhibur? memenuhi masa senggang? atau sudah menjadi tradisi? entahlah.. kadangkala perlakuan mereka² amat menjengkelkan. tertanya pada diri sendiri apakah sudah hilang kesopanan bangsaku ini? yg pastinya, sekalung tahniah kepada kolonialis dahulukala di atas kejayaan mereka merubah jatidiri kita dari dahulu dan tidak putus² sampai sekarang. sudah pasti ianya akan beterusan hingga usia dunia berakhir. namun tidak boleh disalahkan seratus peratus kepada mereka kerana pentadbir negara sendiri tidak merasakan itu sebagai satu keaiban. tak begitu?

setiap kali tahun bertukar, topik yg sama akan diwacanakan. apa azam dan resolusi tahun baru? adakah sudah tercapai azam tahun lepas? bagus sekali jikalau mempunyai keinginan untuk merubah diri ke arah kebaikan. tapi pokok pangkalnya tanya diri sendiri. kalau ingin berubah tidak kira masa dan ketika.

tahun lepas banyak sekali peristiwa yg menjadi perhatian semua samada di dalam negeri atau luar negara. dari kisah penaklukan iraq, penentangan terhadap keganasan yg diketuai oleh negara polis dunia A.S, perletakan jawatan perdana menteri kita, kecemerlangan atlet dlm dan luar dlm arena masing². kesemuanya sudah menjadi sejarah yg termaktub dan perlu diambil iktibar baik dan buruknya.

penutup bicara, tiada ertinya menjadi bangsa yg mengaku merdeka sekiranya perlakuan tidak mencerminkan yg sewajarnya. sama²lah kita merevolusikan diri sebagai titik mula tahun ini. buatlah perubahan kepada diri sendiri dan persekitaran. cabaran dunia semakin luas. jurang semakin melebar. renungkanlah..
