A Must See Malaysian Movie

Emotionally disturbed.. That's the sentence that I think suits myself when walk out of the cinema last nite. Thanks to a friend that got me 2 tickets to watch the flick. It's a full house and kinda different for a midweek sceening session with that scenario. I guess it's been a long while from the last time I write bout a movie here, but this masterpiece makes me put a side my work for couple minutes and here it is..

People have been askin whether this film is our version of 'Love Actually' (a Brit-Hollywood flick couple years back) which puts several different luv stories in a movie. Even some of the pre-review of the movie are like questioning of the story. Waallahh.. I guess it's answered when the screening starts yesterday, even the Gala Nite was few weeks ago. It's a totally pure deep script which to me almost perfect by covering all aspect in our normal life. Directed by a first-timer Khabir Bhatia but well known with the 'Idaman' soap opera and script written by his wife Mira Mustaffa. Mira wrote it a couple years back and just recently with Ara restructure the screenplay and proposed to Grand Brilliance to become the producer. Together, they brought to us what I can say a kind of film that must be near to us somehow with either 1 of the stories.

Started with narative by Dyan(Nanu) with KL City movement as the background. Comes the introduction of the players with the scene of Arianna(Amani), Taufik(Pierre), Harris(Shidi), Airin(Rita Rudaini), Azlan(Eizlan), Azura(Fasha), Dhani(Que Haidar), Rubiah(Fatimah Abu Bakar) and Elyas(Dato' Rahim Razali). It's kinda unique the way of each character being shown. Even each of the stories stands indipendently, the characters connected to one another by coincidence, circumstance and location. As the title itself, CINTA (LOVE) represents a universal theme with 5 couples whom lost and searchin their love each other. There is a normal cupid young love which I don't really feel sumthin bout it. Also a story about a marriage couple which very happy and suddenly the wife walk away after feeling that she found her true love, and the hubby feels really down with it. About 2 siblings where the sister is in love with someone's husband and have conflict with her brother who choose a life to be a street artist by drawing potrait. A love at first sight with a no ready man who almost lost the chance and finally an old chap who havin Alzheimer and a widow whom really care for him.

The film itself sets mostly at Klang Valley. Kabir geniusly using lots of unexpected beauty office building and places. Even the 'setinggan' kind of house looks nice. With wide angle shot that being used mostly, the film looks genuine and pretty from my point of view. Just one thing that somehow makes me bored which is too much wide KL angle dawn scenario and its like a cliche as lots of the drama series or film have been using it before. The up down shot in this movie however, been shot closely and it makes the set looks more detail. As for the dialog, there are several lines that we may really apply by doing it in our life. Mira write it with full passionate and its not sumthin that we get in the Sembilu Kasih kind of dialog.

From the 5 stories, which one is yours? It's the question that you must ask when watching it. Somehow, I guarantee that you'll be connected to either 1 of it. As I find myself related to some of it. Touched, Entertaining and Awake is the feeling once the movie finished. Somehow love really does happen when you least expect it. But have you found the true love of your life??
